Private Everglades Airboat Tour on Your Cruise or Layover Day
Got a few hours in Miami before or after a cruise, or between flights? A private Everglades airboat tour fits a cruise or layover day well. You get your own boat and a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain, and we can add a private van so you don't need a car.
How it works
- We pick you up at the PortMiami cruise terminal, your hotel or another confirmed location.
- We drive you to our dock at 5334 FL-90.
- You take your private airboat tour (1.5 hours or longer when you book transportation).
- We drop you off at MIA, FLL, your hotel or another confirmed location.
Timing your day
We’re open 24 hours; confirm your tour time when you book. We usually pick up about an hour before the tour starts, depending on distance. Leave plenty of time before your flight, and we'll help you plan it when you book.
Luggage
If you're bringing luggage, it must fit in the back of the van or between guests when the van is full. Tell us how many bags you have when you book.
Pricing
- Tour, for two guests: 1.5 hours $275, 2 hours $375, 3 hours $575. Each additional paying guest is $60; kids 5 and under ride free but still take a seat.
- Private van: $400 round trip for up to 13 people, 4-guest minimum.
- Example: 4 guests on a 1.5-hour tour with a van is $275 + $120 + $400 = $795.
Payment and cancellation
Full payment is required to book. Cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour for a full refund.

Cruise and layover FAQs
Can we do an airboat tour before or after our cruise?
Yes. Book a 1.5-hour or longer tour with private transportation, and we'll confirm your pickup and drop-off when you book.
Can you drop us off at the airport?
Yes. We can drop off at Miami International (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL) after your tour. Tell us your flight time when you book so we can plan your day.
What about our luggage?
Luggage must fit in the back of the van or between guests when the van is full. Tell us how many bags you have when you book.
How early will you pick us up?
Usually about an hour before your tour starts. The exact time depends on how far your pickup location is.
How much does it cost?
The tour starts at $275 for two guests for 1.5 hours, plus $60 for each additional paying guest. The private van is $400 for up to 13 people.
Can you do an Everglades tour from PortMiami on a cruise day?
Yes. Florida Tour Company picks you up at the PortMiami cruise terminal in a private van, takes you on a private airboat tour with a USCG-licensed captain, then drops you off at MIA, FLL or your hotel. Our dock at 5334 FL-90 is roughly 45–60 minutes from PortMiami, depending on traffic. Private transportation is $400 per van (up to 13 guests) and needs at least 4 guests and a tour of 1.5 hours or longer.
Sample post-cruise timeline
Here's how a disembarkation day could look with a 1.5-hour tour. Times depend on when you clear the ship and on traffic, and we confirm your pickup when you book.
- Disembark: Leave the ship and collect your bags.
- Terminal pickup: Your private van meets your group at the PortMiami terminal.
- Drive to the dock: About 45–60 minutes to 5334 FL-90, depending on traffic.
- Airboat tour: 1.5 hours (or longer) on your own private boat.
- Drop-off: We drive you to MIA, FLL or your hotel.
For a 1.5-hour tour, plan on roughly half a day from terminal pickup to drop-off. We'll give you a timing estimate for your date when you book.
How much buffer to leave before your flight
Leave a generous cushion. Your tour should end with enough time for the drive to the airport, check-in and security, plus extra for Miami traffic. We can't guarantee a specific flight connection, so tell us your flight time and airport when you book. We'll help you choose a tour start time and length that leaves room to spare. If your flight is tight, a later flight or an overnight stay gives you the most relaxed day.
Pre-cruise or post-cruise?
- Pre-cruise (the day before you sail): The most relaxed option. We pick you up at your Miami or Fort Lauderdale hotel and bring you back, so there's no luggage juggling or ship deadline.
- Post-cruise (disembarkation day): This turns the hours before your flight into a tour. We pick you up at the terminal and drop you off at MIA, FLL or a hotel. Ask about your bags when you book; luggage must fit in the back of the van or between guests.
- Embarkation day: If you'd like to tour before boarding, tell us your ship's boarding times when you book and we'll tell you honestly whether it fits.

More cruise-day questions
How far is the Everglades airboat dock from PortMiami?
Our dock at 5334 FL-90, Miami, FL 33185 is roughly 45–60 minutes from PortMiami, depending on traffic. Your private van picks you up at the cruise terminal and we confirm the pickup time when you book.
How much time should we leave between the tour and our flight?
Leave a generous buffer for the drive to MIA or FLL, check-in, security and Miami traffic. We can't guarantee a specific flight, so tell us your flight time when you book and we'll help you pick a tour time and length that leaves room to spare.
Is it better to do the airboat tour before or after our cruise?
The day before you sail is the most relaxed option, with no luggage or ship deadline. Disembarkation day works well if you want to fill the hours before your flight, with pickup at PortMiami and drop-off at MIA, FLL or a hotel.
Can a group of more than 13 people do a cruise-day tour?
Yes. Each van holds up to 13 people, so larger groups use additional vans at $400 each. Most boats seat 7, so bigger groups also use additional boats. Book early so we can reserve enough vans and boats.
